Without Strings will keep you turning the pages. I loved the wry humor and the spunky backchat that lightened Mary's desperate situation. Her courage wears thin when she could face a murder charge--or be a victim herself. All the people in this novel are characters in their own rights, including Moses, the cat. I often read novels several times--novels that I really like. Without Strings is one of those.
Great read. Some mystery, some romance, and very well written. I had a hard time putting it down when I needed to do something else.
I guess it would be an entertaining read under a blanket, on a cold winter's night, by the fire.

Another great read by Cecilia. I'm a fan and always look forward to her new releases. This is the fourth book I've read by this author and she does not disappoint. Her characters are well defined and her research into her subject is obvious.
Mary Connolly is trying to move on with her life after a messy divorce when her ex-husband shows up. She can only guess what he wants this time ... Petty criminals and international jewel thieves, a spunky employee and an exceptionally kind customer (who might like to be something more), a cat named Moses - this book has some of everything and will hold your interest to the very last word.
I really wanted to like this story but could not like the characters. She was too finicky. I didn't ever see any chem between them. It was also very wordy. Too many details about floral stuff that was just repetitive and added nothing to the story. I don't need to hear any more whining about rose thorns or about "lake therapy".
