A poltergeist haunts Taro, dogging his international travels. It washes glasses, puts dishes away, and even dusts. As an asexual, it really spoke to me, I squeaked at the cute, cringed with the "talk", a sex scene that's in line with how I experience, and gave me all of my feels without making me feel guilt. This was a very sweet story with a nice paranormal angle. I enjoyed the portrayal of an asexual person shown honestly and with respect. This was a very enjoyable story.
Though the main character is asexual...it always worried me--how an author will handle it...I really enjoyed the book. The characters are well developed. The romance is sweet. And the journey the characters take to come together is fun, smart and novel.
This was a wonderful light read with a surprising end. I kept trying to figure out what was cleaning house and it was fun to guess. I wasn't sure what to expect. The characters were lots of fun. I like it when writers have MC's that aren't perfect with abs of steel. Regular guys deserve love too.
..but the story kept me there.
Very enjoyable book. Likeable misfit characters, interesting places, and just the right tension get this book a thumbs up and grinning recommendation. Well worth a read. I'll be trying other titles by author Angel Martinez.
I absolutely loved the twist in this wonderful bit of storytelling. Taro and Jack were a pleasure to meet and it was incredibly special how they completed each other or more how they got each other's personal problems and solved them and the ghostie's situations.
I'm an admitted fan of Ms. Martinez's work--Gravitational Attraction is one of my favorite books. This charming story did not disappoint. Her prose is so smooth and effortless--easy to fall into the story and become totally immersed. Taro and Jack are both quirky and endearing--as are the poltergeists. It's such a pleasure to discover characters who may not be perfect--or perfectly beautiful; who aren't alpha jerks who have to prove their masculinity with violence; who are lovable and loving--and willing work on a relationship that challenges their own expectations. Highly recommended.
Taro has won the lottery and decides to buy properties around the world. In Germany he starts having strange experiences which follow him back to NYC. Jack is a ghost hunter called in to help. Very well written, nice to have a different take on what a relationship is. Love the vulnerability of both main characters, love the family and supporting cast, love the little guys, just love the whole story!
